Kids playing at D20's weekly Date Night Magic Tournament

Looking for something for the kids to do on President’s day? We’ve got’em (and you) covered. Starts at 12-5 Magic Sealed Deck Event–$35 (Includes 2 drinks, a mid afternoon snack, 6 packs, and an afternoon of safe fun) Decks will be made of the packs opened. Special Bonus: Bring in your decks to have our in-house guys help tune and tweak. Play against store players for extra prizes and advice. Limited to 24 kids, so sign up in advance. For kids from age 9-14. Parents/gardians are welcome to join, and can stay with kids under age 9.

Older players who wish to join, may do so provided they are interested/willing to help the kids sharpen their games.

Here are the upcoming Magic (MTG) Events for this week

Friday:

Friday Night Magic Adults (@6:30) $15 with sleeves (last month for free sleeves…after Feb, Drafts will have options of $2 sleeves).
DA, INN, INN. (Dark Ascension is a true expansion set..it works best Mixed with Innistrad. Next week will be the standard recommendation, DA, INN, INN)

Saturday:

Date Night Magic (@5:30-9:30) $15 with sleeves, $20 with two pieces of pizza and a drink. (Come for Pizza at $5 and RSVP at info at d20alameda.com to make sure we have enough.) If you are going to be late, call or email and we can have someone sit in for the first part of the draft for your child. They will make their best picks and pass those on when your child gets there. (please don’t do this if you will not be making it since this costs us money to do.)

Sat 2/4 Dark Ascension Release Party : 3:30-5-deck building, 5:30-10 4 rounds. Entry fee is $25 and is a sealed deck, which means you get 6 packs and get to make the best deck you can. BONUS-Register this deck for the Monday and Weds League play events for free. Registration will require separate $25 purchase.
The Release party will replace Date Night Magic one more time and then back to regular schedule. Kids will play in their own pod in the release party (more fun for them, more fun for the adult players)

Bonus Card for first 48 people who sign up for Prerelease

MTG-Dark Ascension Pre-release event! Saturday, Jan 28th, ~~Noon~~ 11:30 AND 5, $25 per player. LIMIT OF 48 players total in both events.

It’s (almost) here…as fun as Innistrad was, the next set in the cycle looks to be just as cool. The set releases on Feb 3rd. and we’re pretty excited that we are now qualified to be a core store and can host not only the release on Feb. 4th, but Pre-release event as well.

Entry fee is $25 and is a sealed deck, which means you get 6 packs and get to make the best deck you can, and then play all afternoon. Should go through 5-6. (We’ll do our usual Kids Pizza and a Drink for $5 for everybody this time at 4:30) The set looks GREAT…some amazing new cards.

Order of Chaos Comes out 1/24

Duelist League for 14 and younger on Saturdays at 2:30 (we will still run it sometimes on Sunday, but load in all the new cards into the binder on Saturday, so the best winning is on that day.) $5 and includes the new Turbo Pack 7.
Master’s tournament on Sunday at 1:30 $5 entry (1 pack into the prize pool for every two players entered. Prizes divided among 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.)

Pokemon League: Saturday at 11am-1pm
Every Week–Pokemon league. ;-) Players of all experience levels (and ages) are invited to come down and find other like-minded players ready for a game, trading or a bit of both. Players get a special check card and for every set of games they play and get signed off they earn their way to fun prizes like special cards and patches. Entry fee is $5 and includes a booster pack.

A few mark the calendar big items:

Pokemon: Our new weekly Pokemon Tournament has been posponed for one week and will start at 11 on next Saturday, Jan 14th,
Yugioh: Next weekend is also the Sneak Peek for the newest Yugioh set, Order of Chaos, $20 includes 5 packs of the newest sets, two weeks before it comes out, plus a special bonus card. Players make a deck from those packs and play for fun for the afternoon. We will be having 3 sets of sneak peek events:

Saturday at 3:00 (Kids 13 and younger only)
Sunday at 11 and 2.

Magic the Gathering: Saturday, Jan. 28th, is the pre-release for Dark Ascension, and yes, we will be having it here. Make sure to pre-order boxes or Fat Packs to make sure you get them when they release the week after. (First 20 booster boxed ordered will get the buy-a-box special promo card.) I’ve ordered as many Fat Packs as I could, but they’ll send me whatever they decide to and I know how much everyone loves them.

Also, we have a VERY cool new game that we’ve been playing a lot and loving: Ascension. We have 8 copies of the newest release and some cool bonus cards to go with the game.

Hey folk…Holiday update:

The store is open Limited Hours this weekend, and since were missing a couple of events, we’re adding to Friday. Oh yeah…a bunch of cool new stuff in the store and some specials. Find us on Yelp for a special deal that is going on for packs right now. Also, come in this weekend for some last minute specials (example…Yugioh Legendary Collection 2 for ~~$35~~ $29 through the weekend, with a free deck box as a bonus).

Happy Holidays folks!!

We’re open extended holiday hours up to Xmas eve, but will be on more limited hours until next Friday.

One of the cool new presents we got for the holidays...

Dec 22: 1 to 8

Dec 23: 11-10 Friday night magic and drafts all day.

Dec 24: 10-5 (maybe longer.) (purchase only…no events that day)

We are offically closed between the 25th and the 30th, but keep checking back for more bonus hours and events that may happen during that time. (Or call in)

We will be Drafting Magic on Friday Night at 6, and will have draft lists going all day for bonus drafts (as soon as we get to 8, we will draft.) We will be drafting all the sets from Standard (Scars block, M12, Innistrad.)

We got a ton of new stuff in for the holidays! We have Photon Shock wave boxes back in stock, Fat packs from Scars, Mirridin Besieged and New Phyrexia, a bunch of great Pokemon stuff and some super cool deck boxes and mats. We also managed to get a very, very cool blast from the recent past that is very hard to find: Archenemy. This varient of Magic lets one master player take on 2-5 other players by them-self. It’s a great version for one player who is good to have a bunch of their friends who may be of different levels get a chance to play together and learn. (Great for a kid to play against a younger sibling and a parent or buddies, and wonderful for older players who want to mix up their games. These go for $25 each and are guarnteed to have lots of fun in ‘em.) This is And we are running a bonus holiday special…spend more then $35 and get 1 of any of the standard packs (Yugioh, Magic or Pokemon) for free. (Excludes 7 for 6 pack offer and events).
