UPDATE: OPEN EARLY (12:45) on Friday–Special Kid Magic Drafts and Duelist League.

We are opening up at 12:45 and will be running two events.

A Magic Draft for 9-14 year olds starting at 1:30-5 Cost is $15 and includes 3 packs of magic cards. The draft starts at 1:30, players need to be here when we get started.
Yugioh Duelist League for 14 year old or younger. Starting at 1:15-3:15 Players bring their own decks to play. $5 entry includes a prize pack and a choice of special prize pack at the of the round. Each round lasts 2 hours.

For an extra $5 at 12:45 kids can have 2 slices of pizza and a drink. RSVP at [email protected] if you want Pizza for your kids. All kids are welcome as long as they obey the rules of the store.

Hello everyone we have new line up of Yugioh products in this week, today we got in the wave 2 tins and the price for this week is $23 (down from $25). Also don’t forget that when you spend at least $20 on merchandise you get a $5 credit towards an event which will come in handy if you want to enter the Photon Shockwave Sneak Preview this Sunday at 11am and 3pm ($20 entry fee-includes 5 packs of Photon Shockwave).

$20 (includes the 5 Packs)

Can I just show up at the door or should I sign up in advance?

We are having two “flights” (tournaments) of 32 players each at 11am and 3pm.
Once those slots are filled, we’re out of the allocation of preview cards.

Can I enter both times?

Konami does not allow us to have players enter twice

Hey folks, here’s the news that fits the print:

Just in: Yugioh Gates of the Underworld Structured Decks $10 (on sale for $9)
Friday: Date Night Magic at 5:30& Friday Night Magic (FNM) at 6:30 and ($15 w/sleeves or Deck box). We’re starting to get a great group showing up, so come and join us. Please RSVP for the kid events and let us know if you are on the way for FNM. We still have the special Contagian Clasp FNM cards for the top place winners.
Sunday: Masters Yugioh @ 1:30. $5 with special bonus event packs!, Duelist League for 14 and Younger at 2:30. Also $5 with special bonus Event packs and special prize cards for the kids.

Also, we’re looking to do a new ongoing event designed to help our competitive players a chance to really get their decks a serious workout for upcoming Worlds and Regional competitions. D20 Games Weekly Update: LOTS of events…Parent-kid magic Sat, Prep for Yugioh Regionals…Magic World Champs in SF In Nov…

Hey Folks. We have a bunch of good stuff coming up, both on the Yugioh and Magic side.

Mondays: EDH Play
Weds: Magic Modern format, Yugioh Dragon Duels (both based on interest)
Thursday: Magic Standard Format
Friday: Date Night Magic & FNM and ($15 w/sleeves or Deck box)
Saturday: Two-headed Giant 1:00 (Start playing at 2:30 with deck building before that for those who are finishing up with soccer and such…this is one of the few tournament types where it’s ok to come in a bit later…just have less time to build decks.. (Parent-Kid & Standard Team…$17.50 pp w/o sleeves, $20 with)
Sunday: Masters Yugioh @ 1:30. $5 with special bonus event packs!, Duelist League for 14 and Younger at 2:30. Also $5 with special bonus Event packs and special prize cards for hte kids.

On the Yugioh side, for our masters, we have the next regionals coming up on Saturday so come on down and get those decks ready for action. For the next 3 days, we bring back the 3 for $90 price on the Legendary Collection 2 prices. We also got in the special event packs for both the Masters and Duelist League for entry bonuses.

On the Magic side, there is a huge event coming up next month. The Magic World Championships is going to be in San Francisco Nov. 17th-20th. Word is this is the last time the public will be allowed to view and it is in our back yard. There will also be a number of great Public events, some with the possibility of getting invited to the next regional competition. In anticipation, we are going to be running weekly Modern and Standard events to start getting those decks tweaked out for play.

Yugioh Legendary Collection 2 goes on sale on Tuesday!! So we’re going to be here on Monday night at 11:45 so we can sell them at 12:01 a.m.

We’re officially closed on Tuesday, but check the site for a few extra sneak hours for purchase only(12:15-1:15, and ~~9: pm~~ some after school hours if we can-check site or call first.)

9-28 Weekly Update: Innistrad Launch Party this Sat, & Friday Draft!!!

Check the moon, because this week the werewolves and vampires are out with the new Innistrad MTG set. D20 Games will be starting off with our Friday Night Drafts using the new set, as well as hosting a huge Innistrad Launch Party on Saturday. Saturday’s event will be a 6-pack sealed deck tournament ($25 entry fee), with a special promo card for the first 30 registered. We will be doing two times so everyone can make it, the first at 12 noon (an early opening this week at 11:30), and the second at 6:00 p.m. Lots of rounds and lots of great prizes!! Remember, every purchase of greater then $20 gets a discounted entry fee, so make sure to let us take care of your Innistrad needs. This is the first time in many, many years that the creator of Magic, Richard Garfield, has been back to work on the game and man is it fun! One of the particularly cool new additions for the set is Transform, special two sided cards that are in each new pack, that can transform from one creature to it’s counterpart. We’ve been playing it this week from the prerelease and it’s the most fun set in a while.

SATURDAY

1:30…Modern Magic Tournament Play for fun and bragging rights. Will count towards Plainswalker points, so make sure you have a DCI card (or we’ll get you one). Entry fee is on me for this one so play just for fun.
5:30 (5 for pizza and drinks-RSVP FOR PIZZA) for two different event for 9-14 year old kids!!

Yugioh Dualist League-players bring decks with them for a Dragon Duel style event. They will play 3 rounds, with the winner getting a Limited Edition Yugioh Playmat, and the second and third place players getting packs. Each player will also get a pack just for entering. $10 w/o pizza, $15 with.
Saturday Night Kids Magic-Draft format this time ($15 w/o pizza, $20 with) . Starting next weekend, we will do something very fun and different…A special sealed deck league matching the Innistrad phases of the Moon.

PLEASE RSVP for any of the Kids events. I’m doing the Sat night events as an experiment based on so many requests from parents wanting to get that night out on Saturday, but I need to make sure we have enough players to get things rolling, and we want to make sure we can deliver what we promise.

Sunday-Yugioh Day:

1:00 Yugioh Masters Tournament!! $10 entry fee and top prize is a box (10 units) of Generation force Special Edition. The competition is tough, so bring your A-game and A-decks. (Remember, any purchase of $20 or greater gives a $5 coupon for event entries, and buying a box of Gen Force SE at the $80 sale price, also comes with a $10 entry fee that will get you into this competition as our guest.) Entry fee includes free deck box)
2:30 Jr. League competition (14 and under who have not won 3 times). Last free tournament. Starting next week, $5 entry fee will include a special limited bonus pack.

Team D20 Rocks Yugioh Regionals!!

This last Saturday (9/18/11), out of a field of over 500 of the top Yugioh players in the area, we had two players from the D20 team end up in the top 20!! Great job, guys!!

With a grand total of 541 players (the largest to start off the 2011-2012 season for YuGiOh) and a grueling 10 rounds of swiss play. the home team entered with intent on topping and making it to the finals. At the end of the day out the over 500 players that entered the tournament 2 members from Team D20 made it to the top 48, with Josiah Choy getting 3rd place and his brother Andy Choy getting 18th. The top 48 have eared invitations to the national competion, and other members of the team are eyeing the remaining qualifiers to win their way to join them.

Saturday’s Parent Kid Draft was huge success! As was Sunday’s Yugioh Master’s event. 😉 Both Will Be back!

Hi Folks,

A few Quick Updates for the week:

Open today for Early dismissal (2:30), and new hours: Our Hours have been updated for the school year, and pretty much match the schedule for after school (Family run business and I need to get my kids after school too). We are going to be running a quick tournament on Wednesdays to give the after school kids something to do. Format will be Modern and we will play around for a little bit with it. (I am also going to work on setting up a system so you can register your kid and let me know if I need to see completed homework before they can get started. I won’t be able to do more then a glance to see completed pages, but I’d be willing to give it a try.) Regular hours are on the site, but they are basically 3:30-8 weekdays, closed Tuesday, early weds, and open late on Friday. Sat will be 12:30
Friday, Date Night Magic continues at 5:30 (5 for food). PLEASE RSVP if you want your lads or lasses to have Pizza and a drink at 5. We had no rsvp’s and then a huge last minute rush, so we didn’t have the pizza. Also, let me know who is interested in Sat. Date night magic? We’ve had a fair amount of interest, and if I get enough, we’ll start running it. (I know the store hours say that we close at 7 that night, but that’s just when we stop letting new people come in. ADULT DRAFT AT 6-6:30…trying to get it going early so the parents who also play can do so at mostly the same time as the kids.
Saturday Magic: 1 p.m. Legacy Tournament ($5 entry fee) AND 5:30, Ben’s Special Birthday Draft: All Foil Alara $22 entry fee ($24 with sleeves). These packs retail for $11.99 each, so getting three plus possible prize packs is a heck of a deal. I’m playing in this one.
Sunday Yugioh: Regular tournament at 1, $5 entry. Top prize: Wave 1 2011 Collectors Tin., Jr. (13 and under) at 2:30, no fee. (buy $20 worth of Yugioh stuff, and the entry fee is on me.)
